Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) are the first step in the process of environmental due diligence. Phase I ESAs are usually required for entities purchasing real estate. WLA consultants perform on-site visits to the site in question to view the present condition and hazardous substances or petroleum usage, as well as to evaluate any liekly environmentally hazardous site history.
WLA also evaluates the risks of neighboring properties and reviews the federal, state, local and tribal records for the surrounding areas. WLA conducts interviews with knowledgeable individuals about the site’s history and performs an examination of past and present aerial photographs and USGS maps.
