The City of Beatrice Nebraska Board of Public Works selected WLA Consulting, Inc. to plan and design improvements for the grit removal system at their wastewater treatment plant.  Snails that grow within the plant eventually flow to the grit basin.  WLA utilized the existing collection equipment, but replace the grit clarifier as well as the grit pump and material housing equipment.  Piping modifications were made to accommodate the improvements.  The new system is now capable of handling more abrasive and larger solids from the treatment plant’s processes.
